Gurungu Health Centre receives improved sanitation management facility

As part of our Ghana WASH Activity and commitment to improving Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in health facilities, CaroGhana has supported Gurungu Health Centre with an improved sanitation management facility. Health centres serve large catchments and need adequate, safe sanitation to protect staff and patients and to set an example for the community.

The new facility supports better waste management and hygiene practices at the centre. It also allows staff to demonstrate and promote handwashing and safe sanitation to patients and visitors, reinforcing the messages we deliver in communities and schools.

We work with partners and local authorities to identify facilities where WASH improvements can have the greatest impact. Gurungu Health Centre is one of several facilities we have supported; we continue to advocate for more investment in WASH in health settings across our areas of operation.
